Blipmeet in Florence & Power Outage in Portland

Last day on the Oregon Coast and we headed southwards to Florence, where we met Evelyne (EvelyneNC on blip) and her husband Don for lunch. It's only the third fellow blipper I have met in real life and we had a good time together, chatting about all different sort of subjects. Afterwards some mandatory pictures of the small group and an ice-cream, before saying good-bye and continuing the journey towards Portland.

We knew from the weather forecast that it will be warm, but were quite surprised to find 95 degrees Fahrenheit (35 Celsius) on the drive there, and still in the 90's when arriving. Had a great dinner experience in the Ringside Steakhouse (sharing the enormous platters) and then walked back to the hotel.

We didn't realise at the first moment, that some blocks of Portland had a power outage. But it became very clear when entering the dark lobby. We were offered to be moved to an other hotel, a few blocks away. But we were ok, assuming that the electricity would be back in an acceptable delay. We were handed a glow stick and climbed the dark stairs to our room and went to bed. Waiting for electricity and the next morning ...
