Cityscape
In what is turning out to be a particularly varied week today found me in the City as a parent helper on a school trip with Anna's class. An investment bank was running a workshop for them to learn all things money...budgeting, risk, borrowing, returns. All through the medium of lots of games. It was really well put together and very interesting. And we got a tour of the trading floor. Only downside was far too long journeys both ways but with super modern air-conditioned coaches there was a joyous lack of vomiting. And we got to see a lot of London sights both conventional and personal - most notably the Landmark Hotel from where I left to get married, as well as a couple of previous work locations.
Home to find out tonight's Spanish class was cancelled as the teacher is unwell which was a relief as it saved me gathering the will to get on the tube and head back into town.
Having been given some free time when no-one was expecting me to be useful in any way I took myself off for a lovely swim.
And now I am trying to read with a backdrop of J & C discussing physics. Jackson had another great science lesson today and Carlos may finally have the physics chat companion that has been lacking around here. Finally someone who will take the whole particle and a wave thing seriously.
I may invest in some headphones.
With everything crossed tomorrow will hopefully bring more variety and even a brand new something.
