Hill Top

I visited Hill Top today in Near Sawrey.
It was one of the properties owned by Beatrix Potter, she spent much time here and it inspired a lot of her stories. Many of her drawings and illustrations in her books were based on this cottage and the surrounding farmland.
I grew up with Beatrix Potter, I've loved her stories and books since a was a little girl but it was my first visit here.

Beatrix Potter left Hill Top to the national trust in her will so everything remains the same, all the furniture inside is original and to look at where she sat when she wrote and drew is inspiring.
A beautiful setting too.
