100 choirs

The Tampere Vocal Music Festival invited 100 choirs to celebrate Finland’s centenary in a joint concert at the Keskustori central square in Tampere today at 7 p.m.  We went to see the event before grocery shopping. The conductor operated from the balcony of City Hall and choirs sang eight songs: Kalliolle kukkulalle, On suuri sun rantas autius, Leijoo, Kesäpäivä Kangasalla, Sahtilaulu, Pitkä kuuma kesä, Musta aurinko nousee and Finlandia-hymni. It was a great event and weather was very favourable.
