Cloudy skies on the crying river

Heart goes out to all those affected by the horrific attack in Manchester. With strength and unity people will get through this awful time.

Morning volunteering in BHF then afternoon weeding out Mares Tail with Jane and Jim in the Botanics plot. There is something very therapeautic and calming about getting my hands stuck into the earth, connecting with the soil and concentrating my mind completely on a manual task. Who would have thought that pulling up roots could be so satisfying. Being outdoors always makes me feel better, whatever the weather, so despite the showers I had a soothing healing afternoon, which I think we all needed today, as everybody has been affected by such shocking news.

In the evening I went round to visit Zoe. It was just so lovely, as always, to chat to such a good, close friend. So sad she's going away for the summer - Glasgow isn't the same without zo.
