Portmoak Moss

I have driven through Scotlandwell many times, and used it as a starting place for a walk up Bishop's Hill. Scouting a route for my walking group, I explored Kinnesswood and Scotlandwell itself for the first time, and was surprised how much there is to see.

Portmoak Moss, on the edge of Scotlandwell, is a raised bog. It's being restored after very unsympathetic tree planting years ago. Mrs P and I spent quite a while at this spot watching a woodpecker.
