The years have passed
One by one
The early days felt like years
Then months. Then weeks
Finally a new life started to be forged
New memories to be created

Your son a young man
Of whom you would be proud
Who is so like you in many ways
And not at all in some.
His memories of you need to be informed
Not just created

The world has changed, but
Tragedy still strikes
