Hollywood
Imagine! It started a bit grey and overcast. I wasnae happy, but it began to clear as we started our jaunt of placenames (for no real good reason)....Sunset Boulevard, Laurel Canyon, Mulholland Drive and of course the Holywood Sign. I thought a shot from afar might do, but I know the discerning blip community wants their clichés writ large. Especially my ones. We had to drive through a closed road sign due to a water burst! It's like war photography, this blip journal.
After that, it was off to the Getty Museum - what a fabulous place. A photography exhibition by Chris Killip had just opened and there he was himself! Surrounded by young female admirers, the tart - there was no way I could muscle my way in.
Back to Santa Monica for a late afternoon cycle along to Venice Beach and harbour on one of the Breeze Bike Share bikes - and a stop for a beer on the return leg. Bliss. And later we stepped about looking for a restaurant - having scrutinised too many menus outside too many establishments we said let's just go into the Chinese. We sat and the menus were delivered to us. Why did we never consider that actually this might be the most expensive place around? It was. It was very good, mind. The waitress was from Leeds and treated us like royalty. We'll get caught one of these days.
