Lithgow Blast Furnace Park

Lithgow was the birthplace of the Australian iron and steel industry.  Constructed in 1913, the Lithgow Blast Furnace produced pig iron which was used primarily by the Trans-Australia Railway.  There is nothing left of the blast furnaces except their footings.  This building housed the engine that blew hot air into the furnaces.
My eyes are coming good after cataract and lens replacement surgery.  This is the first image I have ever taken without glasses against the camera’s eye piece.  Looks like I will only need glasses for reading.  I have worn glasses since the age of 3 and feel very strange not wearing them.
The extra shows the entire building.
