Lady stag!

I found this female stag beetle on our family room floor and carefully placed it on a piece of plywood. I used the 27mm lens with a 10mm extension tube on my Fujifilm XT2 camera to take a quick shot before releasing the beetle on a pile of rotting wood in the garden.
We often find female stag beetles around this time of year (it's their breading season) but we've never seen a male.
