Swift Training

I was delighted to receive Swift Monitoring training at Holyrood Park last night.  Here we are looking for 'Screaming Parties' of Swifts.  This behaviour indicates swooping flight linked to nesting sites.  I hope to get my transect soon.
Sadly Swifts are in decline and have reduced by 60% over the last 20 years in Scotland.  I hope that volunteers are able to collect some useful data on swifts in Edinburgh this summer.
