Great Grey Owl

We stopped of at the Loch Lomond Bird of Prey centre on our way home from last night's game at Hampden, having stayed over at our daughter's home.

A grand way to spend some time after last night. The people there were really interesting and so enthusiastic about the birds there. Unfortunately the birds were still moulting , apparently much later this year because of the wet summer, so the birds weren't flying today. Still it was fun trying to get some decent blips which didn't show too much of their surroundings. This close up of the Great Grey Owl was taken with the lens held very close to the wire grid covering the owl's shelter.

LARGE might be worth a look

definitely well worth a visit as was the garden centre which is a major part of the centre, beautiful plants and a really good restuarant area where we had a really delicious lunch and home baking, highly recommend it if you are passing.
