Flying to Shetland

Departed Edinburgh at 18.05 and landed at 20.45 in ............Edinburgh! Half way north we were informed that the fog had rolled in and we might not get in. We carried on North and were a mere 40 metres above the runway when the landing was aborted and back to Edinburgh we headed. I could see the runway and the crows in the fields to the left but just not safe enough to land. Absolutely the correct decision. A night at the Premier Inn in Livingston resulted. Be at the airport for a 7.30 flight we have been told.
