Cadger's Bridge

Just for fun we explored Biggar today, and what a lovely town it is. Behind the copper beech on the right is the gasworks (museum opens in June) and, following the Biggar Burn beyond that we found the Burnbrae Park, which is full of play equipment for all ages and a paddling pool. We were sorely tempted to throw off our shoes and join the wee children splashing about in the warm sunshine.
At the far end of the park, across a ford, is the Covenanters' House, a C17 farmhouse which was relocated from some 13km away and the 'old' stone bridge built in only 1988. However,  interesting to note are the half-shuttered windows and a set of jougs fixed to the gable end.
There is much more to Biggar than this, we will aim to stop off and explore more another time.
