NMS Collection

I went on one of the new tours of the NMS Collection in Granton.  There are numerous buildings housing 12.5 million items (only 18,000 are on display in their various museums).  Well worth doing if you get the chance.

Some beetles amongst the many items in the entomology section, and in extras some of the vast ceramics collection (this is the Scottish stuff) and the big animals.  The room in the last photo smells pretty horrible, and that's because of the oil still seeping out of the whale bones.
