Mutual Weirdness

Sorry for another mugshot. No other pictures taken today, other than of Ben's donut breakfast!!

I'm going to have to stop sending Steve out for milk or bread of a morning. He keeps coming back with chocolate croissants!!

That said, while he was out I'd already asked Ben if he'd like pancakes for breakfast. And the thought of chocolate pancakes trumped the chocolate donut that Steve bought for him - until Ben acknowledged how hungry he was, and couldn't wait for the pancakes to be cooked!

We popped over the road for half an hour to Little Fishes. I've missed going there over the summer! Nice to catch up with some familiar faces, and Ben ran off and played like there'd never been a break at all.

Before we had lunch Charley wanted a sleep and I thought I'd give a double hammock back carry another go - and he was asleep before I'd even finished tying it! I think he was a little too low down, and it wasn't quite tight enough round my middle because it put a lot of strain on my shoulders. Something to work on there.

After lunch (Charley was completely disinterested) we headed to the shop for groceries and the boys sat in the double trolley again, much to Charley's delight. I wore sexy boots. With heels. I don't know what posessed me but I spotted them in one of my shoe baskets and decided that they would go well with my miniskirt. And so they did, but the slippy floors at the supermarket didn't agree with them much... I didn't fall or trip or slip, just kinda skidded along trying to get a wonky trolley to behave!

We got home too late for Ben to go and see Casper :( Ben was devastated. It was my fault completely for being ill (I have the nasty cough bug that's doing the rounds at the moment) and not wanting to go to the shops until it was quite late :( So I must pop round tomorrow with a "sorry we missed you" note.

Ben has watched Monsters V Aliens three times today. And then most of Monsters Inc. It sucks when Daddy is busy and Mummy is poorly. But on the other hand the new coffee machine arrived today. We got an identical one so now we have two pots that fit the one machine ;-) I'm still only on decaf but apart from being poorly I'm not feeling the withdrawal so much today!

Dinner was (more) pancakes and Charley was again pretty disinterested in eating :( right up until he was given the wooden spoon that Steve had used to stir the cheese sauce. Apparently that was an excellently tasty teether!

An early night for the boys tonight. Steve got them ready for bed before he went out for tonight's prayer meeting (which I accidentally gave him the wrong venue for and he ended up at the youth meeting - and decided to stay!) while I had a brief bit of timeout. I managed to finish another mug! This time it was the 'crazy' mug, as it's been nicknamed. I went a but mad painting it and have been very unsure about whether I liked it or not. But, with a great Dr Seuss quote doodled on it and a couple of other bits, it's now one of my favourites! I'll be happy if it sells because I know how much it makes me smile, and I hope it makes somebody else smile too.
