Deep in the deep dark forest

Whinlatter Afternoon


Deep in the deep dark forest, 
Cool in the sweltering heat. 
No people.  Just us.  
Then!   Swoosh!  Out of nowhere!  
A beat of wings and a glimpse of tawniness 
swooping down through the straightness of conifers!


Then. 
Deep in the deep shadowy forest, 
light crept crawling magnificently through 
and the moss and the grass and the lichen came alive.  
And the forest sang.




Beautiful day in the Lake District.  Visited Booths (YAY!) .  Bought some shorts (not from Booths!).  Walked through the forest.  Observed the Ospreys on the webcam with their three chicks.  Started to relax.  Little Blipmeet with Clickychick and Jerra planned for tonight.  Life is good.
