Asparagus

A vine grows two storeys up from street level to a pergola above the first floor balcony. A little above head height on the street the remnants of wild asparagus have been wrapped around the trunk. This is the traditional way to prevent rats from climbing up there to steal your grapes or anything else they might happen to find about your house.
