See No Evil - Account of a Riveting Day
Nelson Street in Bristol saw the biggest permanent Street Art project installed in August. Called See No Evil, the many interventions are still visible and are stunning. Check out my photoblog to see more, but I guess this is all legacy of Graffiti Artist Banksy, and this being his home town and all. So innovative, and such a great credit to the wonderful city of Bristol.
Too many 'light refreshments' last night meant our day today started rather slowly, but Martin and I did eventually make Bristol Boat Yard via the Street Art by lunchtime. Useful Dave was on good form, and Betty Blue the yacht is now very close to being finished. I spent the afternoon tasked with drilling out rivets in the mast and repositioning the Radar Reflector on it's mountings and then re-riveting. Perfect man's work!
The day ended with a few beers in Clifton, a beautiful meal cooked at home by Angela, and all capped-off by a Northern Soul disco under mirror ball in the kitchen before getting late to bed after a Jameson's nightcap or three.
Could a day be any better? Public Art, boat yards, riveting, beer, great food, close friends, Irish whisky and Northern Soul - I don't think so.
This write up is made horizontal, whilst lying in bed, the morning after the night before. Don't expect anything too taxing for Thursday!
