Horsethief Lake

Horsethief Lake and view towards Mt Hood, seen from the Horsethief Butte.

It's our last full day of holidays and we decided to discover the area of the Columbia Gorge towards the east, where vegetation changes towards prairie style, currently with beautiful flowers in white, yellow, orange and blue. After 40 min driving we reached the Columbia Hills Historical State Park on the Washington side of the river. We climbed the Butte on the difficult track, being rewarded with amazing views.

Drive back via Goldendale and State Route 142 to Hood River. It is perfect and warm weather again, having lunch outside on the terrace overlooking the river. A perfect last day of holidays.

PS: Still slow and difficult internet situation. Thanks a lot for all the comments on the last entries. Follow up as soon as the connections will be better.
