A good journey home
I couldn't resist stopping off here at The Angel of the North just for a few minutes. There were lots of floral tributes at the base of the Angel commemorating the lives of a man & his step-daughter who were both from Gateshead and who were killed in the Manchester bomb. Lots of people were there looking at the flowers and the other tributes which included cuddly toys and little signs saying "top dad" & "you are loved"..it was quite moving. Even as we left more & more people were converging on the site - I guess to pay their respects...so so sad.....
The rest of the journey went well & after a couple of other stops we were home by 1450. Walked in flopped down then the phone rang & it was N wondering if we could go and see Z for a while, which we (reluctantly) did. Mind you we were rewarded with smiles kisses & cuddles and plenty of "playing with my camera which he has taken a shine to..
Home then for a glass of cold beer & .....rest....
Hot & sunny day ...a few spots of rain en route but nothing much & the only traffic we hit was when we got back to Aylesbury - doh !
Extras are of the Angel....thanks for all of your lovely comments on my holiday snaps & hopefully (or not) I'll be back to normal tomorrow....the lawn by the way is 5 inches high in places...but tomorrow is another day....
