Marsh Fritillary

This morning we decided to have a drive over to Chambers Wood to look for butterflies, particularly these Marsh Fritillaries, to photograph. Fortunately there were several around. It is the first time I have ever seen them! their wings remind me of stained glass windows!

Once home we sat down and watched Rugby League's Big Bash from Blackpool. It's the Championship's equivalent of Super League's Magic Weekend, and there were some very entertaining matches played today.

Weather-wise it has been odd. It was hot and sunny this morning, then we had a thunderstorm shortly after getting home, high winds and some rain - not as much as Blackpool though, it looked like they were getting a proper soaking!
