Third Cliff boardwalk
We spent the afternoon on the North River on a shorebird tour organized by the North and South River Watershed Association. It was really perfect, a pontoon boat and a half dozen folks listening and looking for shorebirds with a friendly guide. The tide on the river was extremely high, a perigean spring tide, totally covering the marshy area and flooding the shore line. The local on the tour had never seen it so high. After the tour we ate at a riverside clam shack as the tide went out. The weather was exceptional, especially on a day when on and off rain had been predicted. We drove to a beachside neighborhood after lunch. Parked the car and walked across the now exposed marsh on a boardwalk to the rocky Atlantic shoreline of the Third Cliff in Scituate Massachusetts. A really splendid afternoon.
For the Record,
This day came in sunny and cool
All hands happy to have spent an afternoon near the sea, on the water.
