No metro station

This notice appeared on the front door of our apartment block. I sent it to a friend although I had recognised the logo.

The locals don't want a metro station built on our island. They fear too much development leading to a loss of architectural heritage and trees, which it's well known for. It probably also couldn't accommodate too many extra people.
