Australian Rustic!

This photo comes from one of my favourite gardening books from Australia, by the garden designer Edna Walling. Although she designed many grand and beautiful gardens, she also liked small, unassuming and rustic bungalows like this one, surrounded by the bush with native trees and shrubs. She began life in Surrey and called one of her own Australian houses "Sonning."
I still enjoy re-reading her books and looking at the black and white photographs!
