Cnoc na Péiste
After yesterday’s atmospheric day it dawned clear and sunny, so we decided to go back to MacGillycuddy's Reeks and walk the eastern hills. We parked at Cronin’s yard and set off up to our first objective, Cruach Mhor; it was warm and sunny, but turned cool and windy as we reached its east ridge. The route over to the Big Gun and then on up the east ridge of Cnoc na Péiste is quite a scramble so we took our time and enjoyed the views. After the top the ridge becomes grassy with easy walking over Maolan Bui and on to Cnoc an Chuillinn, where the blip was taken of where we had walked. It also meant that unexpectedly we had managed to go up all the ‘Irish Munros’ in the south west in one trip.
