Between fen and mountains

Wild fruit

Another couple of hours at the dentist's meant I was late for the walking group and had to meet them half way round their circular route. I, therefore, walked the second half of it alone to recover the car. This was very pleasant as I was able to enjoy the woods and orchards in splendid isolation, meeting no one for two hours. I had forgotten my lunch but was able to make do with wild figs, blackberries, a windfall peach (of which there were hundreds) and a handful of grapes growing at the side of the road. Canigou had its hat on but the tramontane picked up and the afternoon was warm, with scudding clouds like an English summer's day!
