Empty vessel

They say empty vessels make the most noise! This early boat from Mull most certainly wasnt empty but it was a heck of a noisey! Why do some folks feel the need to talk at the top of their voices so everyone else hears the innane rubbish they are speaking about? I have to say the worst offenders are the English!!! which I find highly peculiar because when I was a tour guide all the English folks on the busses were lovely people and didnt shout like that! Im worndering therefore is it a particular type of English person as the majority who inhabit Mull tend to have come from exe military stock or from the Home Counties. Hence the name for Mull became the Officer's Mess! or to us the butlers pantry! There were some noisey Americans there too I have to add. Yet when abroad its the Italians that seem to be talking at ear splitting pitch so maybe is something that folks do when on holiday!
