Sunday Classics : Moscow Philharmonic
Really good idea to see and hear them.
Huge ansamble leading by great conductor Yuri Simonov started with Shostakovich' s Festival Overture. Russian music on its own. Top pianist Freddy Kempf played Rachmaninoff' s Piano Concerto No.3 in a such brilliant way. And he deserved huge applause.
In the second half we have heard Prokofiev' s Romeo & Juliet which was classic example of truly great performance at all. I didn' t expect something like that. We get more than we expected. I' m pretty sure.
We were quite lucky because we paid onlu 12£ per person for the seats located at Upper Circle. Great.
Looking for the next season ;-)
