Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan

I was last up here 8 years ago on a solo jaunt to bag my final Munros but this time came with Mrs AB who is on her own mission.

We started from Killilan and cycled the 12km up the good track to Iron Lodge before heading east into the hills on foot. After a 'boots-off' river crossing, we finally started the first hill. 600metres straight up is not something I want to repeat (who chose this route????). We reached the summit around 1.30pm in thick clag.

We were in the clag for next few hours until dropping out of it below 1000m and climbing up to An Socach. The cloud was definitely lifting slowly and by the time we reached the summit of Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan it was almost clear to the south.

We camped in the corrie beside a lovely babbling burn on some flat dry grass with comfortably shaped boulder to sit on.
