Zinnia blossom...

...which should be opening soon! I liked all the different shades in the tips, and this being one of my new plants, I'm anxious to see what the actual flower will look like.
Two days ago I saw the Baltimore Oriole at the feeder, so I ran outside and put out both jelly and an orange slice, but I haven't seen him since. Lots of European starlings coming through, and yesterday evening we heard a really loud thump on our bay window and found that a young robin had flown right into the window--it was moving, but it's movements were very feeble and it died a short time later. Poor thing! Tom took it out and buried it in the back yard. The birds flying into the window happen every once in awhile, but they don't normally hit that hard.  :(
