There's a storm coming

This baby bird was sheltering in a potted Acer outside my door.  I wasn't sure why but it was still there when I went to bed.

There was a lot of thunder and lightening over night and I wondered if it knew that bad weather was coming.

I found a similar looking corpse the following morning.  I like to think that it was a nest mate and this one had flown away.
