Lumsdale near Matlock
Lumsdale is a unique Derbyshire dale, about one mile to the north of east Matlock. Beginning in the 17th century, the water power of Bentley Brook was used to power a series of mills down the dale. The remains of many of these still exist, as do two of the three original mill ponds. The site has had much done on it in recent years and is now accessible by the paths and a number of steps. This was the photographic society walk this evening.
