Squirrel on a wire

Not sure what this guy was doing in this odd pose - maybe enjoying the heat from the black plastic insulator? Didn't stay long, too hot on his.......!!

Lots of squirrels around here, nice to see since we don't get much wildlife around the gardens back home, other than the occasional possum in the more rural areas. There are also beavers too, though I have yet to get a good view - only a rather distant sighting of one in some long grass some distance away. Apparently they come up from the local creek and sewer drains (like gigantic rats?!). Plenty of birds including cardinals, Baltimore orioles, American robins (actually a thrush), and several, as yet unidentified species. I must work on some long lens shots.

Zoe is getting better at running with us now, we can actually enjoy the run as she trots beside us instead of straining at the lead constantly. But I don't think we will ever really be "doggie people" (sorry, Tussock if you get to see this - though I do enjoy reading your and your Boss's journal).
