Sherborne 'Old' Castle
These ruins, under the guardianship of English Heritage are perfect for ultrawideangle photography, on a bright day. Add a few fluffy white clouds and it's perfect.
Looking up at the inside of the ruins of the gatehouse through to the main part of the Castle. The Nikkor 17-35mm at 17mm on full-frame D700 was used with a Sigma EX polariser, the RAW edited, then the resulting PSD copied and and converted to black and white. Then, localised dodging/burning to smooth out the bright bits and open up the black bits.
I took hundreds here this morning and was spoilt for choice. I wanted a good candidate for an infra-red 'effect' and this was about the best one for that.
