Basking in the Sun

This American Goldfinch was enjoying sitting in the sun as much as I was.  I edited the highlights and shadows on this photo slightly but otherwise left it alone because I liked the dark background  (there was actually a row of shaded trees back there) and the way the sun made him glow
Later in the afternoon I missed getting a shot of a raccoon, looking for goodies under the bird feeder.  I knocked into the dog's water bowl as I grabbed my camera, scaring the critter away.
