Injured?

I spotted this bird sitting on the ground just outside our dining room.  Its legs appeared to be at odd angles, and it didn't seem to be in any hurry to move.  I did wonder whether it was injured, or whether it was a young bird separated from its parents.  However, after a while it did suddenly fly away, so perhaps all was well (and there were no cats around at this point).
