Pelican Grooming

Yet another bird for the journal. This fine fellow spent quite a while cleaning his feathers after fishing. It was fun to watch him stutter in his flight, turn head down, and dive into the water. Then come up with a bill full of water and usually a fish. I was swimming while he fished so I missed that photo.

He had several seagull honor guards trying to steal his catch. None succeeded.
