Doing-a-what-comes-naturally...
As I headed down to Dunbar Harbour this morning I was wondering what sort of new images I could produce from my gull watch as I have already covered birds in flight and nesting fairly extensively. Unless some of the gulls had already hatched nestlings I thought I was going to be stumped. However, just as I was ready to leave I saw this pair performing. Initially I thought they might be fighting but upon closer inspection it became obvious they were mating. They appear to be doing this two or three weeks later than the other birds so presumably their progeny will make a much later entrance into the world.
