Flower Friday
I love this delicate daisy looking flower and especially because it's orange. My favourite colour!
Was thinking about colours this morning and how much my colour preferences have changed over the years. Maybe some of you can relate, but back in the day we used to try and figure out which colours suited us depending on whether we had warm or cool skin tones. Warm being the yellow, peachy and golden undertones and cool were the pink, red or bluish undertones. Why I spent so much time trying to figure it out is beyond me (other than I do like fashion) 'cause in the end I think it's whatever colour you feel good in. The early years saw me in what was known as the 'summer' colours...pinks and blues, the more pastel colours I guess, and I have many photos showcasing that colour palette extensively. (Chuckling to myself as I'm writing this.) Whether I was 'type-cast' correctly back when I was younger or not, today I feel most at home in what I would call the earth or fall/autumn tones. It's evident in my clothing, my home and even the flowers in our yard. Perhaps it's because I do love the outdoors and nature so much but also because I feel I've finally settled into myself. Such a silly little thing really, but to me colour choice matters, as I'm sure it does to many of you as well.
Now I'm really waiting for that beautiful yellow ball that occasionally sits in the sky to shine some lovely warmth on my skin!
