Look back in time

Back blip as last minute decision to visit grandson who was taking part in a second world war re-enactment next to Quorn railway station in Leicestershire.  2 steam trains were running and this was the scene on the platform when waiting for a train.  Admired the costumes worn by so many visitors and I got to chat to lots of them because I was there all day and I had lots of time to kill when grandson was busy doing other things.  One couple told me they will be going to similar events all over the country every week-end this summer and she wears a different outfit each time.  The attention to detail is amazing.  It is on for the rest of the weekend and yesterday was reasonably quiet as not all the participating people had arrived.  You could have your photo taken sitting in a Spitfire and at one point during the day they turned the engine on to send the propeller whizzing round.  Very dramatic.
