Crusader inn

The Olde Trip to Jerusalem, in Nottingham, claims to be England's oldest inn (although there are other contenders for that title). However, there is no doubt that it is very old (dating from the 12th century) and very interesting. The name derives from the fact that it was a stopping place for crusaders on their way to Jerusalem. It is also remarkable as a building, being built into the rock beneath Nottingham Castle.
