Day 154/17. Honey Bee on an Iris

A scientific discovery from me today.
I discovered that Bees land on the stalks of Iris's and then climb up into the flower to collect the pollen.
Every other flower they land directly on the flower.......anyone any idea why? Why not land on the flower petals and walk in?
