British Library
Although I worked in London for years I had never visited the British Library till today. I met my school friend Sarah there for coffee and a look at some of the old books behind glass that are presented for the public. I was in awe of some of the texts we saw, a Jane Austen first edition, Elizabeth Barrett Browning poetry in her own hand, a letter from Mary Queen of Scots and an ornament worn at Culloden to name but a few. Definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in the area of Kings Cross. (this particular exhibit was free).
Super to catch up with Sarah, we used to meet quite regularly when we both had London meetings but now it tends to be annual and a lot to talk about!
These books are behind glass, there is an old printing press in front and there are a multitude of reflections involved!
