Kniphofia

Katkatkat and G are with us until they set off for their backwoods/adventure/survival course.  KKK requested that they take us for lunch to the Upfront Gallery.  Always worth a visit even when you don't want fed.  The food there is all vegetarian/vegan however this isn't the reason KKK is so keen on it.  She has problems with dairy foods and citrus.  Upfront are always certain what is in their food and don't need to consult a long lengthy file.  She just has to ask whoever is serving and the know! 

Kniphofia (Red Hot Pokers as we called them as kids) caught my eye on the way in.   Time for a blip!   Wrong the dothering old fool had put the battery on charge but not put the spare battery in.  There was a certain degree of muttering and the camera went back in the car.

As we came out I borrowed Clickychick's Canon (not a Pentax I know but needs must....)   Named after Johann Hieronymus Kniphof physician and botanist the genus is native to Africa.  There are many species and cultivars, both annual and perennial.
