Off to The Ritz

Son 1 and the Maltesers were heading to London this afternoon to celebrate one of their 18th birthdays by having afternoon tea at The Ritz - much more sophisticated than anything I ever did! Dress code required them all to put their smart stuff on - easier for the girls I think but the old prom suit was dusted down and saw the light of day once more.

He drove the five of them up in the little black car, and despite maternal concerns, managed to successfully negotiate London traffic for the first time and find a free parking space near Piccadilly to boot. He seemed remarkably unfazed by the challenge - I wish I had his laid back attitude. So glad they all got back safely too - we only heard about the horrific London Bridge incident after he had driven back. Now thinking about all those people affected by the attack who weren't so lucky.
