Dumfries House, Cumnock

Hosted the Boswell Book festival featuring "The lost songs of St Kilda". During the early 1940s a 10 year old child named Trevor Morrison living on the Isle of Bute was taught piano by a former resident of St Kilda. Some 60 odd years later and by now living in a care home in Edinburgh he sat at the piano and started to play the tunes that he had been taught. A volunteer at the care home was intrigued and recorded the tunes. With the help of Sir James MacMillan from Cumnock they are now part of an album "The Lost Songs of St Kilda" which features some of the original recordings by Trevor Morrison. James MacMillan played them at Dumfries House.
