On The Town

I shouldn't be writing about this. I say 'I haven't got it' and then think about how glorious it would be for hours, drugged on that sweet, warm rush of butterflies.
I'd like to pray, I'd like to beg, if only to keep thinking about it. If only to stay a little longer in my delusional cocoon where things are simple and warm. I've been there for weeks without fully realising it. It can only survive a few more days and then the sugar will turn to dust and I will have to find new things to dream about.
But there it is again, that damned hope rising up in me like warm champagne bubbles.

P.S. Chlo is out on the town tonight, looking every inch the sophisticated young woman, and uncannily like Zooey Deschanel.
