Today's the day ............................ for a 'liquid twitter'

No we're not talking social media here - we're talking about the brief visit of a goldfinch, grabbing a late breakfast of the seedhead of a cornflower in the back garden.

You always know when there's a goldfinch around because it has such a distinctive undulating flight that is almost a dance - and, despite being quite a small bird, it has that unmistakable call.  The Field Guide to the Birds of Britain and Europe  describes it as a 'liquid twitter - switt-witt-witt-witt frequently repeated'.
