Shadows of the Wanderer
This sculpture is part of an exhibition/installation in Salisbury Cathedral by the Brazilian artist Ana Maria Pacheco.
In her notes for this exhibition, she writes :
'The Shadows, the figures in black, belong to the night; they are the memories that we carry with us in the depths of our mind. The two leading figures, the father and son, are on their way to a new horizon, a new life, leaving the catastrophe of war behind them. It is a reflection on the way that we deal with the contradictions of life upon earth, the two contradictory dimensions of reality.'
